Mornings at Gangtok So after a long period of studies, exams, entrance exams and all the chaos that a HSC student goes through, Gangtok-Pelling-Darjeeling was the most awaited trip of the year for me. I went there with my family through tours and travels company named 'Tulip Holidays'. So without wasting any time, I'm starting to share my travel experience. Firstly, let me tell you that Gangtok and Pelling are cities in Sikkim whereas Darjeeling is a city in West Bengal. I'm displaying the basic tour plan here, so you'll get an idea what the blog is all about. I'm splitting the blog in 3 parts, namely Gangtok, Pelling & Darjeeling. Gorakhgad from Dehri After the board examinations, Gorakhgad was a much needed trek for refreshment. Trust me, if you're strong enough (mentally) that you know you can survive, then this place is a complete starting package for you as a mountaineer. We  (a group of 9 people) went up there on 25th March, 2017 (Saturday). Gorakhgad is situated in a village called 'Dehri' which comes under Murbad, Kalyan area. Suggested mode of travelling is by private vehicle. Because, the fort is nearly 55km from Kalyan Railway station and in costs you almost same by travelling via private vehicle; the difference is just that, you get more comfort in private transport, other than local public transport. We started the journey early in the morning i.e, at 4.30 am, from my residential place(Panchpakhadi, Thane). Being sick of studies and all the 12th standard pressure, I went on another trek last year. This was eventually the 3rd trek of the year. And, as we believe in happy endings, this trek ended with a bang! Full of fun, a little harder mountain awaited us. This time, I went with some other group. It wasn't of my college friends, it was of my society's co-residents. We were 6 people, 4 boys, a girl & her father(who arranged trek). We had a first timer, who eventually made our trek more funnier with his fear. As I said earlier, the trek was a little harder, and he was climbing a mountain for the first time ever in his life! Adjusting schedules in 12th standard is not easy for any student. Yet, after so many fights, discussions, lump sums, we convinced our parents. We were a group of 6 people and went up there on 16th July, 2016. We don't usually travel together, but when we do, we make sure that it's memorable. Rajmachi was one of them! It was an "Almost Cancelled" trek, because we initially planned for Peb-Vikatgad (Near Neral), but cancelled it as one of the student lost his life in a landslide just a week before our trek. So obviously, our parents were so worried about us and didn't want us to go. But nothing stands before passion! Against all the odds, we gathered some courage, buckled ourselves up, and went for the trek! I t was once again in the same year, we were set to trek it! Finally, after so many discussions and adjustments, we, a group of 6 college students decided to go on a trek to Lohagad. Lohagad Fort (Downloaded from Google) We went up there in April. It was actually a planned day trek which eventually turned out to be a night trek. We took a train from Thane station to Lonavla station. We reached Lonavla station at 2.00 AM. Half asleep, we all took our backpack and went to Lonavla Bus Depot to have some food and beverages. We came back to the station and there were local rickshaws. We took 2 autos to Malavli station. We reached Malavli station around 3.00 AM. Wondering about what to do next, we sat there for about 20 minutes and concluded to start walking. There's a bridge which leads to Lohagad Village.
