GAIMUKH CREEK

Image
I've been at this place twice before. And I somehow felt like I should write about this as this is can be a best place to find solitude. Sunrise from East. 'Gaimukh' is nothing but an endpoint of "Thane city", and a part of 'Vasai Creek' flows from here. I visited this place 2 years ago for the first time in my life, and to be honest; it was nothing but a pile of junk. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of the creek from 2 years ago; but now, it has been developed so that citizens can come and spend their time here. Gaimukh Temple (Downloaded from Google) The 'Gaimukh creek' is about 13 km from Thane Railway station near Ghodbunder road. There's Gaimukh temple on the way, hence this area is known as Gaimukh. Gaimukh creek is truly a great place to witness sunrise and sunset. If you go there early in the morning, the cool breeze will please you with a great sight of sunrise. If you stand in such a way that you're facing the

HARISHCHANDRA GAD - A DESTINATION WORTH DYING FOR

Image
I know it's pretty late to write about this experience but I've been very busy with other stuff which I really don't know why I was engaged in it (LOL). This blog is about Harishchandra Gad which is in Ahemadnagar District, Maharashtra. There are 3 routes by which you go up there. 1) Nalichi Vaat - Most difficult and dangerous as well 2) Khireshwar - A level easier than nalichi vat. 3) Pachnai - Easiest of all but yet entertaining. just another fog covered view We (a group of 7 people) went there with a professional trekking group called "Treks and Hikes" on 9th of July,2017. Basic itinerary of the trek was to catch the Kasara local train from your nearest railway station which reaches Kasara in midnight. From there, there will be private vehicles which take you to the base village, Pachnai. We took the train and it was a very pleasing travel time as we all friends were just enjoying ourselves playing cards and shouting and making chaos.

GANGTOK - PELLING - DARJEELING

Image
Mornings at Gangtok So after a long period of studies, exams, entrance exams and all the chaos that a HSC student goes through, Gangtok-Pelling-Darjeeling was the most awaited trip of the year for me. I went there with my family through tours and travels company named 'Tulip Holidays'. So without wasting any time, I'm starting to share my travel experience. Firstly, let me tell you that Gangtok and Pelling are cities in Sikkim whereas Darjeeling is a city in West Bengal. I'm displaying the basic tour plan here, so you'll get an idea what the blog is all about. I'm splitting the blog in 3 parts, namely Gangtok, Pelling & Darjeeling. All three cities are situated in mountains, so the roads are 'Ghats'. We lived on mountains for 8 days! We roamed through mountains for 8 days! And yes, it was very pleasing and beautiful. PART 1 - GANGTOK To get to Gangtok city, we took a flight from Mumbai airport @7am to Bagdogra airport which arrives the

GORAKHGAD - A TREK WHICH TESTS YOUR SKILLS

Gorakhgad from Dehri After the board examinations, Gorakhgad was a much needed trek for refreshment. Trust me, if you're strong enough (mentally) that you know you can survive, then this place is a complete starting package for you as a mountaineer. We  (a group of 9 people) went up there on 25th March, 2017 (Saturday). Gorakhgad is situated in a village called 'Dehri' which comes under Murbad, Kalyan area. Suggested mode of travelling is by private vehicle. Because, the fort is nearly 55km from Kalyan Railway station and in costs you almost same by travelling via private vehicle; the difference is just that, you get more comfort in private transport, other than local public transport. We started the journey early in the morning i.e, at 4.30 am, from my residential place(Panchpakhadi, Thane). It took us around 1.30 hours to reach to Dehri (we took the wrong road so it took nearly 30 minutes to get to the correct one). We started to hike at around 7.15 am from

BHIMASHANKAR - A MUST DO TREK

Image
Being sick of studies and all the 12th standard pressure, I went on another trek last year. This was eventually the 3rd trek of the year. And, as we believe in happy endings, this trek ended with a bang! Full of fun, a little harder mountain awaited us. This time, I went with some other group. It wasn't of my college friends, it was of my society's co-residents. We were 6 people, 4 boys, a girl & her father(who arranged trek). We had a first timer, who eventually made our trek more funnier with his fear. As I said earlier, the trek was a little harder, and he was climbing a mountain for the first time ever in his life! View from base village After the plannings and packings, we met in our society at 04.00 AM. We went to Thane station and took a train to Karjat 04.59 AM(very first train of the day). We got down at Neral station by 06.15 AM and went to Neral bus stand from where we took the taxi (TumTum) to the base village. (You can get down to Karjat station al
